The Bakersfield City School District
On
Friday, May 11 the Bakersfield City School District honored parent
volunteers from every school in the district at the 25th annual Parent
Volunteers of the Year Ceremony. As this was the 25th anniversary, the
room was lined with large photos of winners from the past and Susan
Dunn, the very first Parent Volunteer of the Year in 1987, addressed
those in attendance.
On
Friday, May 4, Ms. Jordan’s and Ms. Scott’s Pre-K class at Horace Mann,
honored Superintendent Dr. Robert Arias, Executive Director of Academic
Improvement and Accountability, Dr. Aida Molina and Principal, Dayna
Martin-Gardner for their contributions to students in the district.
It’s
testing season and schools around the District were busy helping to
motivate students to do their best and feel confident that they would be
successful. These efforts took a variety of shapes and sizes, each
showcasing the creativity and talents of the principal and staff at the
site.
