The Bakersfield City School District
On
Thursday, January 19th, Sierra Middle School invited district and
community guests to come to the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for
their new 20 kilowatt solar shade structure. Those attending received
solar-cooked mini pizzas, UV activated nail polish and color changing
bracelets and got to see various solar science projects on display, in
other words, it was a Solarbration!
On
January 14th, 17th, and 19th, some district students were busy
polishing their p's and q's and i's before e's in preparation for
district spelling competitions.
Once again the district has reason to send congratulations Aida Molina’s way. Last time was her appointment to the State Board of Education. This time, our Executive Director of Academic Improvement and Accountability has received her Ph.D. in Urban Leadership from Claremont Graduate University. Congratulations, Dr. Molina!
