Mission Statement:
The mission of the Curriculum & Standards Department is to ensure the educational success of all students by having high expectations, a commitment to excellence, and a comprehensive program confirming the belief that all students can meet or exceed the California Academic Content Standards.
Goals:
- To provide schools with effective and appropriate curriculum, instructional strategies, assessments, staff development, and recommended resources that result in all students attaining the California Academic Content Standards.
- To provide instructional support and coaching to school sites that will assist teachers in developing and maintaining a balanced, comprehensive instructional program.
- To provide instructional leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating quality curriculum and instructional programs, which are consistent with state frameworks and documents.
- To initiate and supervise the improvement of curriculum through the development of district curriculum guides and the implementation of programs to improve student performance.
- To provide and direct a system for evaluation, selection, acquisition, distribution, inventory, maintenance and implementation of state adoptions and supplementary instructional materials.
- To provide for the integration of instructional technology and support services and use of the broadcast studio.
