Mission

Curran Middle School is committed to provide a nurturing and challenging environment for all students by promoting social growth and lifelong learning.

Beliefs

  • Students learn best when they are involved in the learning process.
  • A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.
  • Student learning is the top priority for the school.
  • Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles.

Curran Middle school initiated the task of defining its beliefs and mission by utilizing a comprehensive consensus-building process involving students, parents, and support staff, teachers and administrators.

Committees were formed to study the schools profile data. The needs of our students, the demographics and the achievement levels were examined and analyzed. a questionnaire was formulated to address the ekkey issues. The result of the survey helped us identify our belief an mission.

The Curran Middle School Instructional Leadership Team further studied current educational issues and the learning process.  In addition, district personnel were also enlisted for consultation.  Findings were reviewed and discussed in the process if defining our belief and mission.

Preliminary mission statements were presented to the faculty, student representatives, and parents for review and comment. Feedback was collected and modificatioins were made based on the suggestions received.
