Parent Volunteer of the Year
Every year hundreds of parents give their time at the school sites to help insure the success of all children. Parents spend countless hours volunteering in the classroom, on school committees, on the playground, in the cafeteria, tutoring, and on PTA and Booster clubs. Our district is privileged to have the support of parent volunteers and to show their appreciation, BCSD hosts an annual Spring parent volunteer appreciation to acknowledge parents for their efforts.
A parent from each school was selected to attend a luncheon at the Kern County Museum. Parents received an award and a certificate for their service. Out schools offer many opportunities to get involved. Click on Parent Involvement to contact your child's school site. This year's Volunteer Appreciation is planned for May 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Location will be announced at a later date. For information contact Myriam Lawhon at 631-4803.
