The History Of Our School
Leo G. Pauly was completed and opened in September of 1969. It is one of the most unique schools in California. Its hexagonal units designed for flexibility utilizing any type of instructional organization desired
Our school is named after one of Kern County’s pioneer educators. In 1905 Mr. Pauly served as principal of both the Beale Street School and Baker Street School. He had been trustee of the Kern County Union High School District, a member of the Kern county Board of Education and served on the Board of Bakersfield City School District.
Mr. Pauly passed away at the age of 94 in the spring of 1970, a few months after he was honored at the dedication and cornerstone laying ceremonies for the school.
