Her research interests focus on issues of social and personal identity, inter- and intra-personal relations, as well as educational equity and access particularly, Latino and Black student achievement throughout the educational pipeline. She was awarded a&amp;nbsp;dissertation fellowship from UC &lt;SPAN&gt;A&lt;/SPAN&gt;ll &lt;SPAN&gt;C&lt;/SPAN&gt;ampus &lt;SPAN&gt;C&lt;/SPAN&gt;onsortium &lt;SPAN&gt;o&lt;/SPAN&gt;n &lt;SPAN&gt;R&lt;/SPAN&gt;esearch for &lt;SPAN&gt;D&lt;/SPAN&gt;iversity (UC ACCORD) for her work entitled, &lt;I&gt;The College Decision-Making Process of Disadvantaged Youth&lt;/I&gt;. She continued her research at UC Los Angeles in the Graduate School of Education &amp;amp; Information Studies as the Allan Murray Carter Postdoctoral Fellow. While at UC Los Angeles, she served as the Director of Research for Project CHOICES: Access, Equity, and Diversity in Higher Education. Her work with CHOICES centered on social and institutional challenges impacting minority achievement in public high schools and throughout the college experience. She has various scholarly publications and has presented her research both nationally and internationally. &lt;/P&gt;

Her commitment to improving public education is an extension of her longstanding leadership with organizations dedicated to creating more equitable outcomes for all students.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;
