BCSD Teachers Recognized by Local TV Stations
Recently two of our teachers received awards from local television stations. Juliana Barron received the 'Teacher of the Month' award presented by My45 and Univision 39; and Melissa Diedrich received the 'One Classroom At A Time' award from FOX 58 and CBS 29.Juliana Barron, first grade teacher at Hort Elementary, was surprised when a TV crew from channel 45 showed up at her classroom. They were there to record footage of her class and interview her so she could be featured on the 'Teacher of the Month' television spot. Besides being featured on TV, her whole class was treated to a pizza party courtesy of the TV station.
Melissa Diedrich, who teaches at College Heights Elementary, was surprised by Siemny Chhuon and Jeff Lemucchi, news anchors from CBS 29 and FOX 58. She received the surprise at Cesar Chavez School, where she is teaching Summer School. Ms. Diedrich received a grant for $1,000, which will be used towards the Linked to Community Life program.
