2009 Migrant Honorees
Rocio Medrano, 8th grader at Sequoia Middle School; Mrs. Martha Costello, teacher at Compton Jr. High; and Mrs. Hortencia Martinez, parent from Sierra Middle School were recently named Annual State Migrant Parent Conference honorees from BCSD, Region XXI. They were recognized at the State Conference which was held at the LAX Westin Hotel in Los Angeles.Lupita Bello, 1st grade student from Owens Primary, was also honored for winning 3rd place in the Annual State Migrant Parent Conference Art Contest. Lupita's entry nicely depicted the message from this year's conference theme "We Work Between the Furrows and We Succeed at the University."
