Oral Language Festival

The BCSD Oral Language Festival provides an opportunity for students to enjoy interpretations of literary works through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  Students choose from a broad selection of titles, which can be either serious or humorous.  They can perform solo, duo or as a group.  The categories are:

  • Serious Interpretation – Solo
  • Serious Interpretation – Duo
  • Humorous Interpretation – Solo
  • Humorous Interpretation – Duo
  • Verse Choir (3-8 students)
The top four BCSD winners from each of the five categories in each division are eligible to complete in the Kern County Oral Language Festival.

Participants:  Elementary division – grades 4th – 6th at participating schools

When:  Jr. High/Middle – November of each year at participating schools, Elementary – December of each year at participating schools
