Welcome Back2007
The 2006-07 school year saw several changes in the district designed to enhance its focus on improving each school’s instructional programs. Principals and school site academic teams participated in training sessions which helped to build collaborative instructional teams that increasingly rely on data driven instruction methods to benefit their students. Teachers and principals from every school spent several days in August brushing up on classroom technique and being introduced to new curriculum. These and other efforts give the district every reason to be optimistic about student achievement for the 2007-08 school year.This year also welcomes some new principals at a few of our schools. Teresa Arambula at Garza, Mario Castro at Longfellow, Warren Ramay at Roosevelt, Julie Short at Stiern, Jeff Fenske at Washington, and Michelle McClean at Wayside. If the names sound familiar, they should, they are all experienced administrators who have simply switched schools.
It’s with great enthusiasm that we anticipate the results of a fruitful 2007-08 school year.
