New Uniforms Unveiled
At this years Veteran's Day Parade all 8 of our Junior High/Middle school marching bands unveiled their brand new band uniforms, as well as many of the new musical instruments purchased this past summer.The district purchased a total of 625 new uniforms for the Junior High marching bands. New musical instruments were also purchased for all schools in the district. At the Junior High school level, purchases focused on the larger, more expensive instruments needed to balance the instrumentation of the Junior High bands and orchestras – instruments like tuba, euphonium, French horn, Cello, String Bass, and Timpani Drums.
The new uniforms and instruments have generated additional interest in school music programs. Enrollment this fall in Junior High/Middle school instrumental music is up over 24% from one year ago! And over 16% in Elementary instrumental music over the same period!
