Frank West Teacher Receives $1,000 Grant
Diane Hislop was surprised to see a news reporter and camera crew show up to her class to present to her the "One Classroom At A Time" grant for $1,000.Amy Carabba from channel 29 and 58 presented Diane Hislop with a giant $1,000 check. While there she and her camera crew conducted interviews with her and a couple of her students.
Mrs. Hislop used the grant money for the Frank West science fair; this year's theme was "Renewable Energy". During the Science Fair students taught other students about the different types of renewable energy like solar and wind power.
They also cooked hot-dogs in solar ovens and flew kites at the end of the day.
