Lifetime Perfect Attendance
At the end of the 2007-2008 school year, 5 BCSD students achieved Lifetime Perfect Attendance. What this means is that they had perfect attendance from Kindergarten through 8th grade; 9 years which translates to 1,620 days of school. The five students were Diego Salas from Sierra, Vanessa Rivera from Washington, Amara Lopez-Beltran from Compton, Johnny Ortiz also from Compton, and Jordan Dickson from Chipman.
Diego, Vanessa, and Johnny were present during the May 27th Board of Education meeting where they were recognized by board President Rick Van Horne and Superintendent Michael D. Lingo.
An interesting fact about Johnny Ortiz is that he is the third child in his family to achieve this goal.
Congratulations and keep up the good work!
