Principal’s Message:

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  This one will definitely be the best yet.  

ELECTIVE CLASSES: We have some new opportunities for our students at Sierra that few other schools offer.  Once your student enters Middle School, they have the ability to take an Elective Class.  If they are still learning the English Language, they will have an English Language Development class.  We monitor their growth annually through the ELPAC and STAR Reading tests. Once they meet the criteria to be reclassified English Language Proficient, they too can select an Elective Class.  The Elective Class options include the following:  Art, Design & Modeling, Magic of Electron, Robotics, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theater, Virtual Enterprise/Business Development and Journalism.  

YOUR SIERRA ADMINISTRATION:  As your Principal, I get the privilege of working alongside an amazing Vice Principal in Ms. Beed.  We collectively have 73 years of experience in BCSD.  We have taught at a combined 6 different BCSD schools and have worked at a total of 11 of them as a teacher, support staff member, or administrator.  Together we have taught every grade level from Kinder through 9th grade in a variety of subjects to include, Reading, Math, Science, History, and Art. Your Sierra Admin team has a Minor Degree in Child Psychology, 2 Bachelors Degrees and two Master’s Degrees in Education. We are both passionate about the health and well-being of our Sierra children and community. We excel in lesson design and delivery, collaboration, and service leadership.  We are dedicated to improving communication and school resources while being committed to honesty and integrity. We hope this school year will be one where your student is able to identify and start building towards their lifetime goals and dreams.  We are here to help you assist your student in finding that spark that ignites their curiosity and motivates them to learn and strive to be the best version of themselves.
