Program Description
The After School Education and Safety Program (ASESP) seeks to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our most important resource, our students. We strive to enhance the learning experience of children and provide them with numerous enrichment opportunities.
Our three main goals include the following:
- To improve students academic achievement
- To increase positive behavior
- To enhance students attendance
The Stella Hills ASESP program is lead by a district Site Program Leader, and the students are supervised by a No Child Left Behind qualified Activity Leader, who are employed through Girls Scouts. Our student to Staff ratio is 20:1 and our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, beginning after school and starting dismissal at 5:15 p.m. (4:15 p.m. on Thursdays).
How does my child qualify for this program?
Any student enrolled in Stella Hills, grades 1 through 5, are welcomed to apply for ASES Program. Applications are taken on a first come, first serve basis. The first 100 students are admitted and the remaining students are placed on a waiting list until an opening occurs. A mandatory parent/guardian meeting is required before your student can begin the ASES Program. For more information contact Mrs. Avila Floyd, Site Program Leader – After School, at 631-4931.
