The VE-JV Career Academy is a two-year program that enables 7th and 8th graders to develop technology and entrepreneurial skills by starting and managing business ventures. The Career Academy will also engage students in fun and exciting competitions and after-school activities that build 21st-century business, communication, and technology skills and the competencies within the BCSD Portrait of a Graduate.
The VE-JV Career Academy offers a real-world context for learning about business and careers. The classroom becomes a workplace setting that allows business thinking to flourish. The program is designed to apply and reinforce academic concepts across many subjects.

- 2024-2025: In the 24-25 school year, two middle schools will offer the 7th-grade course, Business Communications. In this course, students will employ industry-standard software to craft projects and produce essential materials for their business initiatives.
- Planned for 2025-2026: In the 25-26 school year, all middle schools will offer the 7th-grade course, Business Communication. Two middle schools will provide the 8th-grade course, Business Management. In this course, students will learn how to create a business, budget, break-even analysis, make expense reports, develop newsletters, develop and present a business plan, and more.
- Planned for 2026-2027: In the 26-27 school year, all middle schools will of the 7th-grade and 8th-grade courses.
