Myron Williams, Coordinator of Student Services department at BCSD and this event said, “The goal of our annual Track Meet is for our students to showcase their athletic talents in a fun but fair and competitive environment in the presence of their peers, family and friends.”
The top five athletes from each event receive recognition with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, and ribbons for the 4th and 5th place finishers. The top 2 winners will represent BCSD at the Kern County Track Meet later this school year. This year, BCSD recognized the top team from Elementary and Junior High/Middle School – Thorner Elementary and Washington Middle School.
Four of the competitors will receive the Clarence Medders Award as top male and female athletes and will be recognized the the BCSD Board Meeting May 28th, the winners are:
Elementary Female Athlete – Addison Ferguson (Thorner)
Elementary Male Athlete – Mekhai James (Casa Loma)
Junior High/Middle School Female Athlete – Dayneisha Dixon (Chipman)
Junior High/Middle School Male Athlete – Daniel Rios (Stiern)
