Munsey Elementary Celebrates Transition From Focus School Status

February 21, 2020 - It was a day of celebration for Munsey Elementary as the school shed its Focus School status.  The staff and administrators were invited to take part in the celebration which took place in the multipurpose room.  Dayna Gardner, Principal at Munsey, welcomed everyone and congratulated them for their hard work and dedication to the students over the last several years.

Munsey was one of five schools to receive Focus School status which was implemented to address areas that needed improvement and deficiencies that needed attention.  For the past three years the staff has worked hard to improve the education process for all students.

BCSD Superintendent, Doc Ervin, was also in attendance and expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the staff to help improve the educational experience at Munsey.   He also encouraged the staff to keep pursuing excellence for their students.

Gardner was asked about the celebration, she said “Three years ago, we started this journey.  We have made a lot of progress and we are here to celebrate all of the hard work our staff has done and Munsey exiting Focus School status.”

Congratulations Munsey Elementary for this wonderful recognition.  Thank you to all of the staff and administrators that have helped make this transition possible.
