March 28, 2018 – Students in the After-School Program at Munsey Elementary participated in an Egg Hunt the week before Spring Break. Students from West High provided the eggs and candy and also hid the eggs all throughout the playground and field.
Megan Knight, West High Student, explained how this event came to be. “We are part of the Interact Club at West High, a Community Service Group at the school. We were thinking of ideas for things to do, and someone suggested an Easter Egg Hunt for elementary school students,” she said. Over 20 West High students volunteered to hide the eggs, and lead the children during activity.
Gerald King, a 3rd Grade student at Munsey, said, “I had a lot of fun this afternoon. I got three eggs, and I really enjoyed the candy inside.”
Thank you to the After-School program at Munsey, the volunteers from West High and everyone else that made this event possible.
