It was a day of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities at Downtown Elementary when the 40-foot Mobile STEM Laboratory from Taft College made a stop on campus. Students were able to take advantage of the several interactive stations it included such as robotics, 3D printing, electronics, drones and much more.
Sheri Horn-Bunk, Executive Director of the Taft College Foundation, was instrumental in making this event happen. “We were so excited to be invited by Downtown Elementary,” she said. “We are looking to spark interest in students, help them find their passion, and help them get interested in science.”
Taft staff and students were also on-hand to help with experiments and to provide demonstrations promoting STEM.
