Throughout the evening, visitors had the opportunity to meet teachers, get an overview of the class and preview some of the students’ work. The event also included resource booths with representatives and information from various BCSD departments, including Family and Community Engagement (FACE), Extended Learning Programs, English Language Learners (ELL) and more.
Naydelin Quintero, 8th grade student at Sierra, said, “So far the school year has been good and my favorite class is the next one we are going to visit, my math class.”
Georgina, Naydelin’s aunt, was also enjoying her time at back to school night. “One of the most interesting classes that we visited tonight was her ELD (English Language Development) class, which was providing assistance to get her ready for high school,” she said.
