Community Partners in Education 2018

November 7, 2018 - The Bakersfield City School District administrative team was pleased to welcome community members and supporters to the annual Community Partners in Education (CPIE) event on November 1st at the Doubletree Hotel.
The event began with breakfast which featured musical performances by the Walter Stiern Middle School Marching Band and Color Guard. Guests heard the state of the District address by Superintendent, Mr. Doc Ervin, and Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Mr. Mark Luque. The team shared the district’s Vision 2021, and the new Vision and Mission. Our vision at BCSD is to be the model of educational excellence, equity and innovation. Our mission is to educate all students at the highest level of academic excellence to become collaborative, creative, and critical thinkers.

The team also shared the district’s values, and shared highlights of accomplishments from each of the key levers of the district’s Academic Blueprint. The presentation included information on the district’s four Core Priorities that dedicate the organization’s resources and energies toward the continuous creation of systems to achieve the extraordinary as expressed in the Values, Vision, Mission and Goals:   A culture of Collective Efficacy, Teaching and Learning, Student Centered Schools, and Access and Inclusion to ensure a multi-teared system of supports for all learners.

The breakfast presentation was followed by school site visits. Event attendees had the opportunity to visit one of the 44 campuses, to visit classrooms, parent and wellness centers, to learn all about what BCSD is doing to support the overall success of our students.
