Welcome back!
We are excited to welcome our students and families to the 2026–2027 school year!
Please review your school's updated General Education Bus Route Schedule below to confirm your student's transportation information. We also encourage you to review the Student Safety, Bus Stop Safety Rules and Bus Rider Rules with your student to help ensure a safe and successful school year.
Specialized Bus Routes:
Families of students assigned to Specialized Bus Routes have been mailed a transportation information letter. If your student is assigned to a specialized route and you have not received your letter or need additional assistance, please contact the Transportation Department at (661) 631-5880. We will be happy to assist you.
Beginning of the School Year:
During the first few weeks of school, drivers are getting to know students while confirming each student's assigned bus stop. As a result, routes may take a little longer than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding as the safety of our students remains our highest priority.
If you would like an update on your student's estimated bus arrival time, please contact the Transportation Department at (661) 631-5880.
Student Safety:
Please take a few minutes to review your student's assigned bus stop location and route number before the first day of school.
For our younger students, school sites will provide a colored wristband. The wristband color identifies the student's assigned bus stop location or route number, helping drivers ensure students exit at the correct stop.
Please remind your student that if they are ever feel unsure or uncomfortable getting off the bus, they should tell the driver. The driver will return the student to the school site so arrangements can be made safely.
Route Numbers:
Every bus has been assigned a Route Number (RT#). The RT# is displayed on the left side of the entrance door (see the Route Placard image). Please review the route number and bus placard with your student so they can easily identify the correct bus.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your child's school or the Transportation Department at (661) 631-5880.
Bus Stop Safety Rules:
Please review these important bus stop safety rules with your student. Following these guidelines helps ensure a safe experience for everyone.
- Stay out of the Danger Zone. The Danger Zone extends 12 feet around the school bus. Please line up away from the bus, leaving enough space for the driver to safely pull into the stop.
- Wait for the driver's signal. Never walk toward, board, or exit the bus until the entrance door opens. The opening of the door indicates it is safe to load or unload.
- Use designated bus stops. Students should board and exit the bus only at their assigned bus stop or in the designated school bus loading zone.
- Escorted Stops. If your student must cross the roadway where the bus is stopped, the driver will escort them across. For safety reasons, students will not be escorted across multi-lane or divided roadways, as oncoming traffic does not always stop for a school bus's flashing red lights.
- Parent Pick-Up. If you are meeting your student at the bus stop, please park on the same side of the street as the bus whenever possible. This helps the driver monitor students and reduces unnecessary roadway crossings.
- Be on Time. Please have your student at their designated bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled arrival time.
Bus Rider Rules:
Please review these bus riding expectations with your student. These rules help provide a safe and positive ride for everyone.
- Remain seated at all times while the bus is in motion.
- Sit properly by facing forward, with your back against the seat back and your bottom on the seat cushion.
- Wear your seat belt properly at all times, if equipped.
- Use quiet voices so the driver can hear traffic, emergency vehicles, radio communications, and any mechanical concerns.
- Keep all body parts and personal belongings inside the bus at all times.
- Keep aisles and emergency exits clear of backpacks and other personal belongings.
- Be respectful, take turns when boarding and exiting, and be courteous to fellow students and the driver.
- Always follow the driver's directions.
Thank you for partnering with us to help keep every student safe on and around the school bus. We appreciate your support and wish everyone a safe and successful school year!
