We work to provide students with the attention and materials they need to be successful in every stage of life.Emerson Middle School opened in 1876.  One of the first educational institutions opened in Bakersfield, it was once referred to as the “Railroad School.”  In 1902, the school was named after the famed author and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.
