Anthony Fuentes was born and raised in Bakersfield. He attended Colonel Nichols Elementary in the Bakersfield City School District, where his grandmother worked in the cafeteria. He is a graduate of Stockdale High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Pitzer College. He attained his teaching credential from California State University Dominguez Hills. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a history teacher at Foothill High School in 2015. Courses taught include World History, Government, Economics, US History, and Chicano Studies.
Fuentes is passionate about supporting the youth of today and can often be found volunteering when not in the classroom. Fuentes believes district policies can profoundly impact the daily lives of students, educators, and their families and is committed to creating a healthy and positive environment for all students, staff, and families.
Outside of his time in the classroom and volunteering, Fuentes enjoys spending time with his family, bicycling, and cruising in his lowriders.
