Voorhies Students Celebrate Reading with Dr. Seuss Musical
The students put on three shows throughout the day, which highlighted some of Suess’ most recognizable characters like the Cat-in-the-Hat, the Whos from Whoville, and others. The performance included student-created props, singing, and choreography.
Erick Casallas, principal at Voorhies, said, “An event like this is important for Voorhies students because the arts are the things that can awaken your soul and make you feel alive. I take pride in doing events like this, and I am really glad that I have teachers who challenge their students to be involved and students who are willing to put themselves out there and perform.”
Congratulations Voorhies second graders for a wonderful show and a big thank you to Leslie Thompson, a second-grade teacher at Voorhies, who helped coordinate and direct the entire performance!
